The Renault Triber is a great car on the highways and is extremely utilitarian. However, in case if the car is fully loaded then it could get a little difficult to drive effortlessly on the hilly areas.
The Renault Triber comes with several safety features like airbags, remote central locking, speed-sensing door locks and seatbelts to name a few.
The average mileage of the Renault is 20 kmpl.
The Renault Triber is a 7-seater package and is the complete in every sense. Whether a long journey or short one, whether it’s a trip with family or friends, the Renault Triber is perfect. The BS6 compliant Renault Triber hasn’t received many changes in comparison to the previous model but the features offered are notable nevertheless. This car seems to be a hatchback, SUV and MPV all in one and that would be only because of the shape of the car and features that it has to offer. However, if it needs to be put in a category it would be a crossover between a hatchback and SUV and is the first of its kind and would also easily fit under the category of a sub-4m MPV.
The performance of the Triber is simple. Why simple? Because unlike the others it is powered by just one petrol engine which is the 1.0-litre ENERGY3 cyinder petrol engine that offers a power of 72bhp at 6250 rpm and torque of 96Nm at 3500 rpm. This is also the same engine that is fitted in Renault’s international cars such as the Sandero. Both options of Manual Transmission and Automatic Transmission are available in the Renault Triber. The 5-speed manual gearbox is as standard and with EASY-R AMT as an option in the variants RxL, RxT and RxZ.
The automatic variant also offers the traffic assist feature. The fuel tank capacity of the Renault Triber is 40-litres and with manual transmission the average mileage offered is 20 kmpl and with the automatic transmission the average mileage offered is 20.5 kmpl. With full tank and manual transmission mode a range of about 800 kms will be offered by the Renault Triber.
The drivability is extremely smooth and there is no jerking or discomfort felt and the bump absorption in the car is pretty good too. However, driving in the AMT vs the Manual Transmission is slightly faster. But the engine has great power at the top, so the driver does feel a sense of power and ease when handling the car.
The body of the Renault Triber is robust and almost aggressive. The design styling is done in a way to ensure that it is in syn with Renault’s latest design language. The credit for the quirkiness goes to the smooth bulge on the roof, the curve of the window line at the C-pillar but the fuss free structure is maintained to make for a classy personality. To add to the ruggedness the Triber also offers faux skidplate, functional roof rails and side-claddings.
The signature grille in the front houses the pulled back headlamps which also get a projector setting for the low beam. The tail showcases the TRIBER embossing on the hatch, wraparound tail-lamps and a tiny roof mounted spoiler while the rest of the structure is kept minimal. The 7-seater Renault Triber has a muscular and unique demeanor which does get a lot of attention on the roads. The Triber is available in the colors ice cool white, moonlight silver, fiery red, metal mustard and electric blue.
The cabin of the Renault Triber is a lot more spacious than expected. The quality of the interiors is good and even though it is nothing absolutely spectacular, the Triber gives a sense of comfort as soon as one enters the vehicle. The cushioning on the front seats is relaxing and the steering can be tilt adjusted making it easy for the driver.
The practicality is top-notch and features like dual glovebox on the dashboard, deep central glovebox and lots of space in the door pockets make sure the travelers can travel with lots of things and still have enough space to store. The designing is rich and the color scheme is black with silver highlights. The second row has a reclining feature and a good amount of knee room and shoulder room and can comfortably fit 6 passengers and a little bit of cramming might be felt if the max capacity of 7 passengers need to sit comfortably.
The middle row is split 60:40 and the one touch tumble function is made available on the split seat on the passengers side to get into the third row. The space is quite narrow so getting in would be a little difficult but the space available is enough for even adults to sit comfortably for short distances. The 50:50 third row seats can be removed all together to get more storage space. If the row is removed altogether then the boot space offered is 625 litres, compared to using the car as six-seater then the boot space offered would be 320 litres and if all the seats are occupied the boot space available would be 84 litres.
The Renault Triber offers safety features like disc brakes in the front with drum brakes at the rear, ABS with EBD, dual-front airbags, driver and passenger seat belt warning, high-speed alert system and rear parking sensors.
Other convenience and entertainment features offered in the Renault Triber include smart card type key, all-digital 3.5-in MID instrument cluster that shows details such as distance to empty, efficiency and fuel along with a gear changing prompter which is a great feature incorporated to offer convenience to the driver. A large 8-inch infotainment system is also packed in the Renault Triber which offers good clarity and a parking camera is available as well. This infotainment system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Power windows are available on all four doors and air-con vents are provided for all rows.
The Renault Triber offers everything and more! Some of the features that have made it really popular are the practicality of the car, the spaciousness of the cabin, the automatic transmission feature, the value-for-money features and the storage space provided. A few arguments to this would be that the Triber is not exactly a seven-seater because it is difficult for 7 people to sit comfortably in the vehicle and the engine available is a petrol only engine. However, the positives kick the negatives out of the park and everything that the Renault Triber is pretty perfect in its own way, therefore making is really desirable. The Renault Triber competes with Datsun GO+, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Maruti Suzuki XL6, Mahindra KUV100 NXT, Hundai Venue, Tata Tiago and Mahindra XUV300.
