Maruti Suzuki has been able to retain its reliability with its range of cars. All that has not worked well for Maruti Suzuki is the premium car segment. Be it SX4, Kizashi or Grand Vitara for that matter, nothing went in favour of the brand. Maruti changed its approach with the Ciaz. Hence it comes up with a whole new division of premium cars. The Premium for Maruti is beautiful and good performing cars without burning a hole in the pocket. Maruti has introduced its first premium crossover under the NEXA brand.
The diesel engines on both cars are good performers in this category. The Ddis 200 engine can pull off 88.5 bhp@3750 rpm while the Ddis 320 can rack up 118 bhp@1750 rpm. The Ddis 320 engine feels more planted as compared to its counterpart. The Ddis 200 feels very slack at lower rpms and also feels a little restricted when it comes to handling corners.
The S-Cross is not a very fancy car as it tries to maintain the signature Maruti look. The car from the outside looks like a buffed up hatchback yet trying to be simple and subtle. The interiors on the hand are plush and meets expectations. The wheel arches and skid plate garnishes make the car look like a crossover. The interiors on the hand are plush and totally upmarket. The dashboard has a nice look and feels along with good quality upholstery gives it a premium feel.
