    Maruti Suzuki Baleno Pros & Cons

    The Baleno is one of the most modern, premium and largest hatchbacks. The bold and muscular personality of the Baleno makes a statement no matter where it goes. There is a lot that the premium hatchback offers, beyond what the eyes see. The Baleno is exclusively sold and available at NEXA which also happens to be a premium car dealer of the Maruti Suzuki.

    Some of the pros of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno are;

    • The design structure of the Baleno is innovative and distinct from the others in its segment. Its stylish body comes with LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, two-tone precision cut alloy wheels and fog lamps.
    • The interiors of the Baleno are as stylish as the body, the cabin is really spacious too and can comfortably seat 5 adults.
    • The price of the hatchback is a lot more affordable than the others in its segment and offer a good number of features for the cost.
    • The Baleno is one of the few cars in its segment that offers a number of safety features.
    • The safety features that are offered are made available even in the lower variants unlike other hatchbacks.
    • The ride quality and the drivability of the Maruti Suzuki Nexa Baleno is one of the best in its segment.
    • Both diesel and petrol engines are available in the Baleno.
    • Along with the diesel and petrol engine options, the Baleno offers both automatic and CVT auto transmission options as well.
    • The post-sale service of the Baleno is as fantastic as one would expect out of a brand like Maruti Suzuki.

    A few of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno cons are;

    • The clutch is not designed in the friendliest manner and can cause a hindrance in the drivability,
    • The Baleno Smart Hybrid is pricier than the regular petrol variant.
    • Handling the hatchback is not too difficult but the steering lacks an appropriate amount of self-centering.
    • The diesel engine tends to get a little noisy.
    • Overall, the ride is smooth but there is some discomfort in the form of vibration that can be felt in the rear of the hatchback.
    • The elements used in the cabin are of average quality and it could use some improvement.
    • The cabin is spacious but since the rear row is shorter, it becomes difficult for tall people to sit comfortably.
    • The quality of the under-thigh support is not the best, making long journeys a little challenging.
    • The shape of the car might not appeal to everyone.
    • The diesel engine offers great fuel efficiency but the engine quality is outdated.

    The Maruti Suzuki Nexa Baleno however happens to be a great car and even though there may be some areas of improvement, that does not stop the Baleno from being one of the best-selling hatchbacks. The petrol engines of the Maruti Baleno have been upgraded to BS-VI as well. The pros are far more than the cons and for the features offered in the price of the Baleno make it a sure winner.

    Maruti Suzuki Baleno Review

    Bella is the Latin word for beautiful. Maruti calling this new premium hatchback Baleno is relative. It is a good attempt from Maruti to take on the premium hatchback competition into its hands. The Maruti Baleno is the second car to be sold under the NEXA banner after the S-Cross. Though Maruti reuses the same Baleno name, it has nothing to do with the age-old compact sedan. It competes with Honda City.

    Balenos are about 100 kgs lighter compared to its competition. This does not impact the handling or the performance in any sense. The petrol cars can churn 66kW@6000 rpm generating 115 Nm of torque while the diesel counterparts are capable of doing 55.2kW@4000 rpm.

    The first look from the outside makes you realize that the rear of the car is too big to be proportionate. Headlights look good with the projector led though it looks to be slightly borrowed from Swift. The overall look of the car is new and stylish. Interiors of the car is a little disappointing, though. They don't look as premium as on the outside
