Toyota’s entry within the sub-4m SUV segment are going to be marked by the upcoming Urban Cruiser. it’s supported the Maruti Vitara Brezza and hence, features an identical design language but the redesigned front fascia, dual-tone interior and a replacement colour. it’ll be launched within the coming weeks with pre-launch bookings for the SUV already open for Rs 11,000. Now, before its launch, Toyota has revealed the color palette of the Urban Cruiser.
The Urban Cruiser will are available a complete of nine colours, including three dual-tone shades. in comparison to the donor SUV’s colour palette, the Urban Cruiser gets similar monotone shades apart from brown which isn’t available on the Maruti’s sub-4m SUV. Instead, Maruti offers the Vitara Brezza with a red paint monotone option. Both the red and brown shades are available with a black roof on the respective SUVs.
Another difference is that the Maruti Vitara Brezza gets a singular dual-tone shade (grey with orange roof), while the Urban Cruiser gets orange with white roof dual-tone colour option. the sole common dual-tone shade on both SUVs is blue paint with a black roof.
Toyota will only offer the top-spec Premium variants of the Urban Cruiser during a dual-tone shade. Likewise, Maruti only offers the ZXi+ variants of the Vitara Brezza during a dual-tone paint option.
Speaking of variants, the Urban Cruiser are going to be available in six variants: Mid, Mid AT, High, High AT, Premium, and Premium AT. it’ll be offered with the Vitara Brezza’s 1.5-litre petrol engine (105PS/138Nm). It comes paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed converter . While the manual gearbox will come as standard, Toyota will offer the 4-speed AT gearbox as an option across all variants.
Only the automated variants of the Urban Cruiser will get the mild-hybrid tech that gives idle engine start/stop, regenerative braking and torque assist. Toyota will offer the Urban Cruiser with a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty as standard compared to the Maruti’s 2-year/40,000km standard coverage.
The Urban Cruiser is predicted to be priced from Rs 8.20 lakh to Rs 11.15 lakh (ex-showroom). it’ll lock horns with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and Hyundai Venue. The upcoming Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite also will rival Toyota’s sub-4m SUV.
