The Kia Sonet is all set to launch in India this August. The concept version of this SUV was unveiled in the Auto Expo 2020 and is going to be the second Kia car that is going to be made in India after the Kia Seltos. Kia Sonet is also the only other car which is available with the iMT Technology in India.
The launch has been a highly awaited one and for all the right reasons too. For those of you who have seen the unveiling or even seen the first look of the car in pictures, already know a little bit of what to expect. The SUV will be priced between Rs 8 Lakh – Rs 15 Lakh (estimated). The Kia Sonet falls in the compact SUV segment and is all set to compete with the likes of Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and the Ford EcoSport. Hyundai Venue is the first car followed by the Kia Sonet that is available with the iMT technology in the nation.
The pre-booking on The Kia Seltos has started with a token amount of as low as Rs 25,000, a little before its launch date that is said to be the 7th of August.
What is already made clear is that this compact SUV is going to take the Indian roads by a storm because of its visible graceful yet robust personality. The car is believed to be have a uniquely sporty attitude, a confident stance and a dynamic silhouette. The selection of colors and the attention to detail in the Kia Sonet is going to set it apart from the others, not just on the roads but also in its segment. The materials and the detailing have been inspired by the great cultural heritage from all over India. The designers have made a conscious effort to put their best and study the country and be able to give an SUV that has a very compelling character. This just goes to show that Kia does truly care about the customers in India and are going above and beyond to make that evident to their young and the young at heart customers.
The Sonet is going to come with three engine options which are;

– The 1.5 Litre Diesel Engine that would produce a power of 99bhp/240 Nm.
Options between the six speed iMT or seven speed DCT as well as a 5 speed Manual transmission are going to be given in the Kia Sonet.
The production spec of the Kia Sonet reveal that the SUV is extremely similar to its concept design that was showcased at the AutoExpo 2020.

The first time on seeing the Kia Sonet, one cannot help but notice the KIA signature Tiger nose grille in the front, the LED DRL’s, the black ORVM’s and the silver roof rails. The fog lamps and the skid pate add a little more edge to the design. The sculpted bumper is another defining feature on the Kia Sonet.
The car looks very rugged and the black theme interior of the SUV adds to its demeanor. The leather upholstery with red detailed thread work leaves a sense of definition in the spacious cabin. The test drives are yet to begin and before that the big reveal is yet to happen but we can already feel the luxury in the interiors. It is easy to say that the characteristics speak volumes and one can help but be convinced that this SUV means business. Even though this compact SUV is still to be launched, it is very evident that comfort and great style are going to be part of the whole package with the Kia Sonet.
A few of the safety features that are very carefully catered to are ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, rear view camera and Six airbags. As of right now there is no official update on the mileage that the Kia Sonet is said to offer, but once the official statement is out, we are sure that it will leave all of us very impressed.
Currently in Mumbai, we have 5 Kia Car Dealer showrooms, that would be selling the Kia Sonet. These Dealerships are;

We, personally can’t wait for the launch because from where we are seeing, it is quite evident that not a single detail has been left out. The Kia Sonet has made sure to tick mark all boxes and look into everything that customer would look for and need. Kia has been delivering cars that are redefining the way the automobile industry looks at cars and we are very sure that the Kia Sonet is going to come forward and stir up a revolution. The mid-range pricing is also going to be very appealing to those who want luxury that does not burn a hole in the pocket.
Kia has gone above and beyond with the Sonet and we are sure to only sing praises for this compact SUV!
