Suzuki Baleno eyeing South Africa market with its launch of Toyota Starlet

Original Toyota’s Starlet badge was introduced in 1973 while the fifth or Final generation was launched in 1999. The final generation as Sport version was offered as Starlet Glanza

Toyota and Suzuki the two giants are now set to share models for their launch

Baleno-based Glanza hatchback is their first shared model in India

Starlet is ready to set a boom in African market under Toyota

Japanese carmakers are ready to set an extraordinary deal with launch of Starlet in South African market

The almost unchanged model with almost negligible differences rather than Glanza which was introduced in India back in 2019 is ready to set launch with just change of Brand from Maruti to Toyota

With almost similar Interior as that of Glanza, you can predict a Starlet look with 

  • TFT screen multi-information display in the instrument cluster, 

  • 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 

  • cruise control and 

  • auto AC. 

Seems doesn’t have any regular changes from Toyota as their own designing

The only change which you can locate is bit different bumper design and tweaked grille design

Technical of Toyota Starlet

  • Measures 3 995 mm long, with a width of 1 745 mm

  • Wheelbase of 2 520 mm

  • Suzuki’s K14B engine,

  • a naturally aspirated 1,4-litre petrol unit

  • 68 kW and 130 N.m to the front axle

  • either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.

Prices are yet to be announced for the same variant
