The Renault’s entrant to the sub-4m SUV segment has been spied testing multiple times over the year at various stages of development. it had been recently unveiled in its pre-production concept avatar once we got a confirmation on its name, the Kiger. Now, a trio of test mules are spied testing, albeit still draped in camouflage
The test mules seemed on the brink of production specification, with one among them sporting new alloy wheels. Another of the spied models was seen with styled wheel caps — both wheels appeared to be an equivalent 16-inches. One also can see the C-shaped taillights and split headlamp design, same because the Kiger concept. it’s a coupe-like roofline with an integrated rear spoiler, roof rails, and a shark fin antenna
Renault has kept the cabin of the Kiger well hidden under camouflage, in fact, we didn’t even see it on the show car concept model. the sole spy shot of the inside so far revealed it’ll have a darker cabin theme and a more premium dashboard than the Triber. it’ll get a floating 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, positioned above the central air vents, with the three-dial layout for the climate controls further down the central console.
The Kiger is predicted to borrow a number of the features from its Nissan Magnite cousin like wireless charging, digital instrument cluster, control , and perhaps even the surround-view camera system. Renault’s offering are going to be a petrol-only model with an equivalent 1.0-litre (72PS/96Nm) and 1.0-litre turbocharged (100PS/160Nm) engines. However, the Kiger may offer the choice of an AMT for the 1.0-litre petrol engine along side a CVT automatic for the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit.
The Renault Kiger is predicted to debut in early-2021, possibly January, with prices likely to start out from Rs 5.5 lakh. it’ll combat the likes of the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, and therefore the Mahindra XUV300.
