The Nissan Magnite is poised to enter the sub-4m SUV segment in India by early-2021.
As listed above, the Magnite will get the selection of two 1.0-litre petrol engines. The naturally aspirated unit, an equivalent one offered within the Renault Triber, will only accompany the 5-speed manual. Meanwhile, the new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine will get the selection of a 5-speed manual also as a CVT.
The precise power output of both engines is yet to be announced, but in Thailand, the turbo-petrol engine is rated at 100PS and 152Nm while the Triber engine makes 72PS and 96Nm.
Nissan are going to be offering the foremost affordable base-spec Magnite XE with the less powerful petrol engine only. The CVT automatic are going to be available on all turbo-petrol variants of the Magnite.
The Tech Pack, which adds features sort of a wireless charging pad, air purifier, ambient lighting, puddle lights and a JBL audio system , is obtainable from the XV variant onwards with all engine options.
Some of the variant-wise features of the Magnite have also been shared by the carmaker. The Nissan sub-4m SUV will accompany 16-inch wheels, roof rails, skid plates, power windows, dual-tone interiors and a 3.5-inch LCD driver’s display as standard.
The XL variant adds a 6-speaker sound system with steering-mounted controls, auto AC, and power-adjustable and foldable outside rearview mirrors.
Moving up, the XV variant are going to be equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with segment-first wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rearview camera, push-button engine start-stop, and a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster. On the surface , it gets alloy wheels and LED daytime running lights. Nissan has reserved features like control , bi-LED headlamps, 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitor and sporty interiors for the top-spec XV Premium variant. it’s not yet clear what the XV Premium(O) will offer additionally to those comforts, but it’s presumably to be a dual-tone variant.
The Nissan Magnite may be a made-in-India model and can be exported to other markets also . As such, the primary production model has already rolled off the road at Nissan’s Chennai facility. The Magnite is predicted to travel on sale in India in January 2021 with a possible price of Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
