The next generation of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio has been spied testing multiple times but this is often the primary time we’ve seen it parked. This allowed the spotter to require snaps from all angles but the test mule remains heavily camouflaged. It’s likely to be launched in early-2021.
While the new Celerio seems boxier than the present model, it’s noticeably larger. it’s expected to be supported the Heartect platform, same because the Wagon R, which should leave a more spacious cabin. The front of the new Celerio is more upright and can likely feature a redesigned front fascia while the location of the fog lamps seems unchanged. it’ll also get a replacement arrangement inside the headlamps.
The buttocks has also been worked on with all-new taillights and a contemporary tailgate design. It still gets an integrated spoiler but the high-mounted stop lamp is now positioned behind the rear windscreen, instead of on the spoiler. The model spied seems to be a high-spec variant with its dark-grey stylised wheels.
There are not any pictures of the inside of this top-spec test mule which is predicted to feature Maruti’s 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. However, a previous sighting of another test mule gave us a peek at the new interior which gets a redesigned dashboard. But since it had been a lower variant, it didn’t have any steering-mounted controls while the instrument cluster seemed an equivalent because the current model.
Maruti is predicted to supply the new-gen Celerio with an equivalent 1.0-litre petrol engine (68PS/90Nm) because the current model with the selection of a 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT. It could also get the choice of the 1.2-litre petrol engine (83PS/113Nm) with an equivalent transmission options.
The next-gen Celerio could come at alittle premium over the present model priced between Rs 4.41 lakh and Rs 5.68 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). it’ll still be positioned between the S-Presso and therefore the Wagon R with a launch likely in early-2021. The Celerio still rivals the likes of the Hyundai Santro, Tata Tiago and Datsun Go. Maruti is predicted to introduce the Celerio X version of the new model also .
