MG features a facelift within the works for the Hector, but two years after kick starting its India journey with the mid-size SUV. The spy shots show that the Hector’s front has been slightly tweaked along side other minor changes to stay the SUV looking fresh among its competition.
The grille, which previously had a honeycomb design finished in glossy black, has been given a matte black quite finish with squarish elements making up the grille. the remainder of the front-end looks almost like the present Hector. We expected MG to show to the Hector Plus for inspiration, which isn’t the case here.
From the side, it’s easy to form out that the test mule seems to be running on bigger 18-inch wheels which nicely fill out the wheel arches. The new five-spoke alloy wheel design looks good on the SUV, doing justice to its size. The buttocks of the test mule is totally camouflaged and thus there are not any changes which will be made out just yet.
As far because the interior cares , there are not any pictures yet. However, we expect MG to supply a dressed cabin with new materials for the upholstery and possibly on the dashboard. As far because the layout cares , we don’t expect things to vary as this is often just a minor facelift. we do not expect any major update within the features list also because the Hector is already loaded to the gills with all the newest tech. It however doesn’t get ventilated seats, something you get within the Sonet which competes during a lower segment. MG might be tempted to supply this feature because it is extremely useful within the Indian climate.
On the powertrain front, things are expected to stay just about an equivalent . The 2.0-litre diesel from Fiat should still make an equivalent 170PS and 350Nm. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine should also still make 143PS and 250Nm, along side the choice to spec it with a mild-hybrid system. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard with both engines, although the choice of an automatic within the sort of a 6-speed dual clutch transmission can only be had with the turbo-petrol motor.
We expect a small premium of around Rs 10,000 for the facelifted over the present model, which retails anywhere between Rs 12.83 lakh and Rs 18.08 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The facelifted Hector will still rival the likes of Tata Harrier, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and therefore the upcoming Mahindra XUV500 once it’s launched within the coming months
