Maruti Vitara Brezza replacing Kia Sonet to acquire No 1 in October 2020

The sub-4m SUV segment has grown rather popular in recent years and continues to flourish because of offerings like the Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue. Models just like the Maruti Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon have also been given facelifts this year to refresh their appeal. The facelifted Maruti Vitara Brezza took the highest spot on the sales chart in October 2020 because of a month-on-month increase of 32 percent. Maruti shipped over 12,000 units of its SUV, 366 quite the second best-selling SUV, the Kia Sonet.

While Kia’s Sonet was the foremost sought-after SUV in September 2020 with even more units shipped in October, it took the second spot with a tally of 11,721. Presently, it holds the second highest market share, of just about 24 percent.

Hyundai’s sub-4m SUV came third with over 8,000 units shipped during the amount . Its demand has stayed relatively stable, witnessing the smallest amount MoM growth of around 4 percent.
