With over 14,000 units shipped, Hyundai’s compact SUV holds the most important market share of just about 47 percent. It even enjoyed a month-on-month increase of nearly 14 percent after recording a purchase of quite 12,300 units in September.
The Kia Seltos’ figures have slipped down again in comparison to September 2020. In fact, it’s the sole compact SUV to witness a negative month-on-month (MoM) growth in October. It still has the second highest market share of nearly 30 percent.
Mahindra’s ladder-on-frame compact SUV, the Scorpio, took the third spot with 3,961 units shipped. Its market share has shrunk by over 23 percent compared to the present time last year, likely thanks to the addition of the Seltos and therefore the resurgence of the Creta.
The petrol-only Maruti S-Cross stuck to fourth place with a tally of two ,526 units. Maruti shipped 428 more units compared to September and it had been the sole other compact SUV to succeed in four-digit figures.
Renault’s compact SUV, the Duster, saw the very best month-on-month growth of 172 percent but still shipped only 362 units. one among the explanations for this surge in demand might be the recently introduced Turbo variants of the SUV.
Like September 2020, the Nissan Kicks took the last spot within the October sales chart also . With only 122 units sold within the month, it’s a market share of a mere 0.4 percent.
The segment will soon witness more competition from the Skoda VISION IN and VW Taigun SUVs that are expected to be launched in early-2021.
Overall, the segment witnessed a MoM growth of 9.82 percent with the entire sales number standing at 29,894 units.
